A romantic tale of a young aristocrat's adventures during the French Revolution. At one point the hero joins a theater troupe to portray ''Scaramouche''. He also becomes a lawyer, a politician, and a lover, confounding his enemies with his elegant oration and precise swordsmanship. An excellent swashbuckler!

I really love this novel and have a special reason... My name is Andres Luis, the spanish translation for Scaramouche's protagonist. When I was about to be born, my father read the novel and then gave it to my mom to read it, when she finished it he asked her.. "Did you like it? What about naming our son as the hero in the novel?" That's how I got my name and that's why this novel is really important to me.
