The story takes me back to 1988 and my first reading of Neuromancer, with the the gritty post-meltdown future in the sprawl . I love reading about it, but wouldn't want to live there.
One of the best longer Lovecraft novels, a story of a doomed antarctic exploration party that uncovers the eldritch nightmares buried and sleeping under the snow. Mind the shoggoth on the way out!
